Muffin's Maple Walnut Blondies
These are one of the treats to make for after a day of skiing, or skating or a day out in the woods. The guys at Dubie Family Maple devoured these sweet bars after a cold day of tapping.
1 Cup Old Fashioned Oats
3/4 Cup melted butter
3/4 Cup packed Brown Sugar
3/4 Cup Dubie Family Granulated Maple Sugar
1 Cup Dubie Family Maple syrup (any grade is fine)
2 teaspoons vanilla
1/2 teaspoon Salt
2 Cups All Purpose Flour (8 1/2 oz.)
2 Cups Chopped Walnuts
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 13*9 pan, set aside.
Place the oatmeal into a food processor and pulse until coarse ground, not too fine.
In large bowl, whisk together butter and sugars. Add syrup, eggs and vanilla, then whisk until thoroughly combined.
Stir in ground oatmeal flour, salt, then gently fold in nuts. Pour batter into the prepared pan spreading evenly.
Bake 30-40 minutes until done. When in doubt a little under baked blondie bar is better than an overly baked, dry bar.
Allow to cool before cutting,
Enjoy the subtle pure maple flavor. Keep in airtight container.
